Roma’s Baldanzi opens up to Verona

Tommaso Baldanzi has not had much of a chance to impress at the Stadio Olimpico with Roma, and is now opening up to the idea of joining Hellas Verona, Football Italia expert Alfredo Pedullà writes. 

Several days ago, we reported the possibility of Tomasso Baldanzi moving from Roma to Hellas Verona becoming a viable option again. 

There had been discussions over the summer transfer window, but ultimately, these fell through as Roma were unable to bring in the players they wanted on the market. 

The interest in Baldanzi has since reopened, despite the fact that he has not had much of an opportunity to impress during the first half of the season. Having been left of Gian Piero Gasperini’s UEFA squad list, he is currently unable to feature in the Europa League for the Giallorossi. 

Baldanzi has previously opened himself up to the idea of joining Verona, and has reiterated that interest over the last few days. A final decision is still awaited. 

Relations between Roma and Verona are excellent, though, particularly after the transfer that saw Daniele Ghilardi move to the Stadio Olimpico over the summer. 

Roma are also among the clubs pursuing a deal for Verona’s Giovane.
