Borussia Dortmund returned to winning ways after their late collapse in the Champions League on Tuesday. Karim Adeyemi’s stunning goal was enough to secure a third successive win for the Black and Yellows.

Nico Schlotterbeck played the entire 90 minutes in Borussia Dortmund’s win over Wolfsburg. The center-back was absent for nearly half a year after suffering a serious injury last season.

Eintracht Frankfurt scored five in their Champions League opener against Galatasaray, but they failed to get a point from their last two Bundesliga games. Dino Toppmöller was left disappointed after their 4-3 home defeat to Union Berlin.

Borussia Mönchengladbach salvaged a late draw from Bayer Leverkusen, with both goals coming in the final twenty minutes. Malik Tillman’s second Bundesliga goal was cancelled out by Haris Tabakovic’s equalizer in the final minute of regular time.

Steffen Baumgart won back-to-back games in Frankfurt after his Union Berlin side triumphed 4-3 in a thrilling encounter. The charismatic coach wasn’t on the touchline for the closing stages, though, as he was sent off for kicking a white paper ball onto the field in the 87th minute.

Despite the injury-time collapse in Turin, the atmosphere was electric as usual in Dortmund as Niko Kovac’s side looked for their third consecutive league win. Additionally, Nico Schlotterbeck’s return was a big reason to celebrate for Dortmund fans.

The first Rhine Derby of the season was a clash between two coaches who weren't at their respective clubs at the start of the season. Thanks to Alejandro Grimaldo's free-kicks, Kasper Hjulmand won his Bundesliga debut against Eintracht Frankfurt before a hard-fought point in Copenhagen.

Both teams lost in the Bundesliga last time out, but the hosts were in great spirits after marking their return to the Champions League with a 5-1 win over tournament regulars Galatasaray. The electric atmosphere in Waldstadion caused a little delay at the start of the game.

Darmstadt the clear winners of the weekend as they dispatch Düsseldorf 0-3 to move up to first place, Kiel produced a positive performance to hand Karlsruher their first defeat whilst Hannover drop points yet again. 

Niko Kovac names his starting XI for the game against his old club, VfL Wolfsburg. The big headline for the hosts is the return of Nico Schlotterbeck to the side after his injury at the end of last season.

The clash between Gerardo Seoane’s former teams will be Sunday’s second fixture in the Bundesliga. The visitors will be led by an interim coach after they sacked the Swiss coach following the home defeat to Werder Bremen. Eugen Polanski, who has played 256 league games for Gladbach, Mainz and Hoffenheim, will be making his managerial debut.

Eintracht Frankfurt host Union Berlin for the first of three Sunday Bundesliga fixtures this weekend. The hosts scored five in their return to the Champions League, while Union Berlin lost consecutive games after a winning start to the league season.

Vincent Kompany made a few changes to his starting lineup in yesterday’s game in Hoffenheim. Kim Min-jae was one of those who used the opportunity admirably as the South Korean international impressed at the heart of Bayern’s defense.

Chema Andres makes his starting debut for Stuttgart on Friday’s win against St. Pauli. The Real Madrid loanee was one of the best players on the night, which could make it difficult for Atakan Karazor to win back his place right away.
