David’s Juventus plan and Milan’s transfer stance revealed

Jonathan David’s start to the season at Juventus has been so disappointing that some Italian media have already linked him with a January exit, but other reputable sources suggest the Canadian wants to fight for his place in Turin.

David has only netted once in 15 Juventus appearances this season after completing a free transfer from Lille last summer.

Some Italian media have suggested that the Canadian striker could leave Turin in January, but according to Matteo Moretto and Fabrizio Romano, this won’t be the case.

“As far as I know, Juventus have not decided to sell David in January,” Romano said.

The Italian transfer expert noted that selling David after just four months would be no easy task for Juventus and that the player is not considering leaving in the winter transfer window.

According to the report, David wants to stay at Juventus and try to turn things around at the club, despite a negative start.

Juventus and David might only discuss a departure in the summer, but as of today, the Canada international is only focused on Juventus, and the Bianconeri want to give him more time to settle in.

The Serie A giants are aware that adapting to a new club and a new league is not necessarily quick, especially when a managerial change takes place.

David already struggled in his first few months at Lille, but then began scoring consistently from December 2020, so Juventus hope the same will happen in Turin.

Milan had been linked with David in 2024 and 2025, but the Canada international was never really close to moving to San Siro, added Moretto, and he is still not on the Rossoneri’s agenda.

Quick take: Transfer watch: this move could reshape selection options and tactical balance in coming weeks. If incentives and add-ons are confirmed, expect follow-up negotiations or medicals to move quickly. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
