Juventus confirm successful Gatti surgery: official statement

Juventus defender Federico Gatti underwent arthroscopic meniscectomy surgery this morning: ‘It was a complete success and the footballer immediately began his rehabilitation programme,’ the Bianconeri said.

Juventus defender Gatti has already undergone surgery following a meniscus injury suffered in a Coppa Italia match against Udinese on Tuesday night.

The Italian defender went under the knife in France on Thursday morning, and Juventus released an official statement after the operation: “This morning, Federico Gatti underwent selective arthroscopic meniscectomy surgery on the medial meniscus of his right knee,” said the Serie A giants.

“The operation, performed by Dr Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet and Dr Loic Geoffroy, in the presence of the Club’s medical director Dr Luca Stefanini, at the Clinique Sante Atlantique in Nantes, was a complete success and the footballer immediately began his rehabilitation programme.”

According to Gazzetta, Gatti will remain out of action for at least one month, though his exact recovery time will become clearer in the coming weeks based on how he responds to rehabilitation.

Another Juventus player, Dusan Vlahovic, will undergo surgery later today in London.

The Serbia international has suffered a high-grade injury to the muscle-tendon junction of the left adductor longus and is expected to be sidelined until March 2026.

Juventus’ next Serie A match is against defending Serie A champions Napoli at the Stadio Maradona on Sunday.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
