Chivu must make assessments as Allegri’s tactical organisation wins derby

Massimiliano Allegri’s tactical organisation allowed Milan to win the derby, while Cristian Chivu must make assessments after Inter’s fourth defeat this season, says Alfredo Pedullà.

Transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà analysed Milan’s 1-0 win over Inter in his latest YouTube video for Football Italia.

It’s a fact that goalkeepers made the difference as Mike Maignan saved a penalty and produced five more interventions, while Yann Sommer was blamed for Christian Pulisic’s winning goal.

There is, however, a tactical side of things that must be taken into account as well.

Milan struggled in the first half, but eventually won the game, proving Allegri’s game plan a winning one, noted Pedullà.

Allegri’s meticulous tactical organisation prepared the Rossoneri to be ready when they had to hit, which is what they did early in the second half.

Aside from Maignan, according to Pedullà, Matteo Gabbia and Strahinja Pavlović were the outstanding performers in the Milan defence.

On the other hand, Inter coach Chivu must make serious assessments, because the Nerazzurri have already lost four games, which, at this stage of the season, can’t be afforded by a team that aims to win the Scudetto.

Inter had the right intensity in the first half, but then got nervous, almost as if they felt they could capitulate to an unfortunate incident.
