Chelsea forward Tyrique George is likely to leave the club in January. George was close to a £22m move to Fulham on Deadline Day, but the deal collapsed at the dying moments.

He now finds himself back on the market for a new club, having failed to nail down regular first team minutes with Chelsea. He’s made three appearances this season, all from the bench and has in fact only started one Premier League game under new boss Enzo Maresca.

George is viewed predominantly as a left winger, but Chelsea already have Pedro Neto, Estevao Willian, Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho in the wide areas. Chelsea have also agreed a deal to sign Sporting Lisbon star Geovany Quenda next summer.

This pushes George even further down the pecking order, and SkySports has reported that Chelsea are open to offers for the player in January. Multiple Champions League and Europa League clubs are interested in his signature, as well as Crystal Palace who were keen on the player before his failed Fulham move.

It was the 19-year-old who requested a summer transfer away from the club, seemingly aware his chances of first team minutes would decrease. Chelsea decided not to stand in the player’s way, having spent over £285 million on new signings.

Injuries however saw the academy graduate deputize as a striker for most of this season, but he has struggled to make an impact. His only goal involvements came in Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Lincoln City in the EFL Cup third round, where he scored the equalizer and then set up Facundo Buonanotte’s winner.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
