Zentner handed down two-game suspension for red card

1.FSV Mainz 05 will be without Robin Zentner for the next two upcoming Bundesliga matches, the club has confirmed.

In the 67th-minute of Mainz’s 2-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund, he collided with Karim Adeyemi and denied a goal-scoring opportunity.

As a result, the 30-year-old will miss their fixtures against Hamburger SV next Sunday and Bayer 04 Leverkusen on October 18.

Mainz has agreed to the ruling of the German Football Association’s sports court, meaning the two-match ban is now legally binding.

Lasse Reiß, the 24-year-old who made two Bundesliga appearances last season, is expected to start between the posts.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
