"We can accomplish anything" – Rômulo explains choosing Leipzig over Premier League move

The interest in Rômulo was huge over the summer, with clubs from several countries, including England, chasing the 23-year-old Brazilian striker.

Ultimately, however, he chose to join RB Leipzig from Göztepe and in an interview with Leipziger Volkszeitung, he has explained why.

“I think it’s because of the club’s philosophy and mentality,” Rômulo said.

“Behind us is the club’s claim: ‘You can do anything’ – you can do and achieve anything. We can accomplish everything. We play intense football. That excited me.

“Being in the Bundesliga now is, of course, a dream come true for me. It’s one of the top leagues in the world.”

Rômulo, who has scored two goals in four games for Leipzig so far, hopes that his move to Germany will boost his chances of playing for the Brazilian national team.

“That’s, of course, the dream for a Brazilian striker like me. For us Brazilians, it’s the greatest thing in the world. Brazil has won the World Cup five times and will be among the favorites again next year. To play even once for the national team is one of my dreams,” he said.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. Continental stakes raise the intensity, where away goals no longer apply but margins still feel razor thin. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
