Video: Napoli flop Lang greeted by crowd of happy Galatasaray fans

Watch as Napoli winger Noa Lang arrives in Istanbul and leads the Galatasaray fans in cheers ahead of his transfer. ‘I’m very happy to be here.’

The Dutch international had only made the move to Napoli from PSV Eindhoven in July for €25m plus bonuses, but he failed to impress coach Antonio Conte or earn a regular place in the team, even during an injury crisis.

With just one goal and two assists in 27 competitive games, only nine of which were in the starting XI, he was released to join Galatasaray.

It is widely reported to be a loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season for €30m.

He landed in Istanbul this evening and was greeted at the airport by a crowd of supporters, who he inspired in their chants.

“I’m very happy to be here,” Lang told reporters.

“The thing that impressed me the most was the size of the club.”

Lang is the second Napoli player to leave this evening, as Lorenzo Lucca refused to speak to the press when flying out for tomorrow’s Nottingham Forest medical.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
