Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Juventus striker Jonathan David in January. The Canada international joined Juventus over the summer from Lille, but has so far failed to make his mark in Turin.

He has scored just once in 11 matches, and Sky Sports has reported that the player’s entourage has already discussed a possible January exit. David’s agents have also maintained contact with several top European clubs, with Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich having inquired about the conditions of a possible transfer.

Sky Sports added that Juventus is ready to sanction an exit for the player if he does not improve his form in the coming months, with Tottenham monitoring developments. David enjoyed a prolific stint with Lille, scoring 109 goals across 232 matches in all competitions for the French outfit.

He was a highly sought after free agent last summer when his contract with Lille expired, with several top European clubs all vying for his signature. Juventus won the race but his time so far in Serie A has left much to be desired.

Tottenham have been in search of a long term solution in the No.9 position since the departure of Harry Kane in 2023. Dominic Solanke was signed in 2024 off the back of impressive showings with Bournemouth, but injuries and inconsistency have seen him struggle to replicate that form in North London.

Solanke’s most recent knock occurred during Tottenham’s 2-0 victory over Manchester City on August 23, with the player yet to feature since then. Richarlison has deputized in the No.9 role occasionally but is not seen as a long term solution in that position.

The same can be said for loan signing Randal Kolo Muani, who has struggled to make his mark at the club so far. Spurs are also known admirers of Porto ace Samu, and are reportedly ready to splash the cash to bring the Spain international to the club.

David would likely be a much more affordable option so Spurs will have a decision to make. With the future of Richarlison continuing to be in doubt, and Kolo Muani’s loan unlikely to be made permanent, a case can be made for Spurs to pursue multiple attacking signings.

Widespread reports of fresh investment arriving at Tottenham beginning in 2026 could potentially hasten any recruitment plans, as Spurs look to equip new boss Thomas Frank with resources to build his ideal squad.
