Tottenham sent scouts to watch Monaco and France winger Maghnes Akliouche during France’s wins over Ukraine and Azerbaijan. Spurs have been tracking the 23-year-old’s performances in Ligue 1 and the Champions League, and have now continued monitoring the player on international duty.

TeamTalk has reported that Akliouche is a top target for Spurs in 2026, with boss Thomas Frank admiring the player’s runs on and off the ball. Akliouche has enjoyed a rise in stock since breaking into the Monaco first team in 2021.

His breakthrough season came during the 2023/24 campaign, when he became a regular starter and contributed eight goals and four assists. He continued that form into the following season (2024/25), contributing seven goals and 12 assists in 36 Ligue 1 starts.

Akliouche also started all ten of Monaco’s Champions League games last season, notably scoring in a famous win over Barcelona. He continues to lead the charge for Monaco during the current campaign, scoring three goals and adding two assists in 11 Ligue 1 games so far.

He is lauded for his dribbling and passing ability as well as his work rate off the ball.

Spurs continue to look for marquee signings under new boss Thomas Frank. After signing former West Ham star Mohammed Kudus, Spurs were pipped to top target Eberechi Eze by their fierce rivals Arsenal.

They were also unsuccessful in their pursuit of Morgan Gibbs-White despite activating his release clause, and continue to pursue other top targets. They are believed to be in the market for both a winger and a striker, after links to several top names including Ivan Toney, Samu Aghehowa, and Antoine Semenyo.

Both Akliouche and Semenyo are believed to be Tottenham’s top targets on the wing. Spurs could face competition for Akliouche however with PSG, Manchester City, Bayer Leverkusen, Inter Milan, Arsenal, and Newcastle United all believed to be tracking the player as well.
