Serie A 2025 Awards: McTominay Player of the Year

The Gran Gala del Calcio Awards named the Top 11 from the 2024-25 Serie A season, including Scott McTominay, Lautaro Martinez and Tijjani Reijnders.

The ceremony was held in Milan this evening and is the Italian equivalent of the PFA Awards.

Napoli midfielder McTominay won the overall award for Serie A Player of the Season, having won the Scudetto in 2023 and 2025.

The title race went down to the wire, so inevitably Inter and Napoli dominated the Top 11, represented by Denzel Dumfries, Amir Rrahmani, Alessandro Bastoni, Federico Dimarco, McTominay, Nicolò Barella and Lautaro Martinez.

There were also two who have since left Serie A, as Reijnders moved from AC Milan to Manchester City, while top scorer Mateo Retegui quit Atalanta for Al-Qadsiah.

Along with the Top 11, there were also individual awards going to Antonio Conte as Coach of the Year and Napoli as Club of the Year.

Inter striker Francesco Pio Esposito was named Italian Golden Boy as best young player for the 20-year-old’s remarkable performances.

Udinese defender Nicolò Bertola was given the award for Best Young Serie B Player thanks to his experience at Spezia last season.

Cagliari defender Alessandro Deiola won Goal of the Year for his team move in a 3-0 victory over Venezia in May 2025, somewhat inevitably seeing as it was also nominated for the prestigious FIFA Puskas Award.
