Samartex coach Christopher Ennin vows to ‘push harder’ for more wins in GPL second round

FC Samartex head coach Christopher Ennin says his side must raise their intensity and consistency as they target stronger results in the second round of the Ghana Premier League.Ennin was speaking after Samartex’s narrow 1-0 defeat to Hearts of Oak at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon on Friday, a result that stalled their momentum at the midway point of the season.Despite the setback, the coach struck an optimistic tone, insisting the team has gained valuable lessons that can translate into improved performances.“I’ve learned a lot and we still need to push hard. At least at home, they will get it, but I’m still fighting for the away win and I believe we’ll come back in the second round,” Ennin said.Samartex currently sit sixth on the league table with 24 points, having recorded six wins and six draws so far this campaign.The defeat allowed Hearts of Oak to climb to second place on 28 points, level with leaders Aduana, who face Young Apostles on Sunday.Hearts held firm defensively to secure the win, underlining the fine margins that Ennin believes his team must overcome.
