Real Zaragoza announce signing of Ghanaian midfielder Yussif Saidu

Real Zaragoza have triggered the purchase option of Ghanaian midfielder Yussif Saidu following an outstanding start to the season. The 20-year-old who joined the Segunda Division side on an initial loan deal from Dansoman XI Wise, has now inked a five-year contract with the club.Saidu spent last season with the youth team and Deportivo Aragon before earning his way into the first team at the final stretch of the 2024/25 campaign. After impressing the technical team of the senior team during pre-season, Saidu has been a regular and featured in eight games this season."Saidu has now committed to Real Zaragoza for the remainder of this season and four more years, and the club congratulates him on this important step in his career. We're still together, Saidu!," wrote the club, confirming his latest deal.

"A setback for a comeback"- Kotoko release powerful message to fans after Wydad disaster

"A setback for a comeback"- Kotoko release powerful message to fans after Wydad disaster

Asante Kotoko have penned a message to fans of the club following their disastrous showing in Morocco on Friday in the CAF Confederation Cup against Wydad Athletic Club. The Porcupine Warriors were thumped 5-1, losing the tie against Wydad 6-1 on aggregate and suffering elimination from the competition in the second round. The defeat has left fans of the club fuming coupled with the sale of their best player Albert Amoah on the same.In a letter signed by acting chairman of the club, Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, the management of the club pledged to turn things around."This is not the end of the journey. A setback is a setup for a comeback. We are already focused on the task ahead, and we are committed to turning things around. Our belief is not wavered," part of the letter read.Asante Kotoko will now switch their attention to domestic football as they eye league and FA Cup success."We call on every Porcupine Warrior to fill the stands in our upcoming matches. Let us unite as one force, wear red colours with pride and roar the team to victory," the letter continued. The Reds will next face sworn rivals Heart of Oak in the Ghana Premier League.Below is the full statement from Kotoko:

Albert Amoah's move to Al Ahli Benghazi was agreed after WAC game – Sarfo Duku

Albert Amoah's move to Al Ahli Benghazi was agreed after WAC game – Sarfo Duku

Asante Kotokos Communications Director, Sarfo Duku, has revealed that midfielder Albert Amoahs move to Libyan club Al Ahli Benghazi was completed just hours after the teams 5-1 defeat to Wydad Athletic Club on Friday. The Porcupine Warriors confirmed Amoahs departure barely two hours after the final whistle, with the deal reportedly sealed for an undisclosed fee.Speaking to the media, Duku explained that although preliminary talks had been held regarding the players future before the trip for the second leg, no concrete agreement had been reached with the Libyan side at the time.He disclosed that negotiations were fast-tracked and wrapped up within an hour to ensure the transfer was completed before the close of the Libyan transfer window. We had wanted to extend the conversation. Unfortunately, the Libyan federation had to close its player registrations yesterday. So obviously, we also have to consider the interest of the player, as against that of the club. And the conversation started way, way back, and there were a couple of clubs as well. But when we realised that the Libyans also had to register the boy [Albert] before the deadline, which was yesterday, we had no other option than to reach a deal which will be mutually beneficial to all the parties."Dont forget that Kotoko also needs money to run the club, Duku stated.
