Official: Juventus hire Ottolini as new sporting director

Juventus have confirmed the appointment of Marco Ottolini as their new sporting director.

“Juventus is pleased to announce the appointment of Marco Ottolini as the Club’s new Sporting Director. Ottolini officially joined the Bianconeri organisation on 1 January 2026, reporting directly to Chief Executive Officer Damien Comolli,” Juventus said in a statement.

“Marco Ottolini brings with him a wealth of experience, built up over time through various roles within the world of football.

“Born in 1980, after ending his playing career in 2002, he immediately chose to embark on a managerial career, gaining experience that allowed him to develop a deep understanding of the dynamics of professional football. In 2015, he began a significant international chapter at Anderlecht, contributing to the structuring and development of the Belgian club’s scouting activities.”

Ottolini already worked for Juventus in the past, working as one of the club’s scouts.

“His first experience with Juventus began in 2018, when he joined the international scouting department,” the Bianconeri continued.

“Over the next four years, he was mainly responsible for monitoring players on loan and liaising with international clubs, closely following the development of players under contract with the club, particularly those playing abroad. During this first spell with the Bianconeri, which ended in 2022, he also contributed to the initial stages of the Second Team project.

“Following a professional journey that saw him play a leading role at Genoa, a new challenge now begins for Marco Ottolini in Turin. His return to Juventus, this time in the role of Sporting Director, represents a natural step forward in a career built on expertise, vision and in-depth knowledge of Italian and international football.

“Welcome back, Director, and good luck!”

Juventus have made several changes to their management in recent months, first hiring Comolli as their new General Manager last summer.

The French director replaced Cristiano Giuntoli and has recently been appointed as Juventus’ CEO.

Last summer, club legend Giorgio Chiellini was promoted to Director of Football Strategy, while François Modesto was hired as the club’s technical director.

Juventus have won seven of their last eight games under new coach Luciano Spalletti and will host strugglers Lecce in their next Serie A match tomorrow.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
