Official: Juventus confirm Bremer return in 23-man Champions League squad for Pafos

Gleison Bremer and Daniele Rugani are both back in the Juventus squad after their recent injury battles, as Luciano Spalletti confirms his list of 23 players to take on Pafos in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

The Bianconeri are hoping to bounce back in Europe after a disappointing 2-1 loss against Napoli in Serie A over the weekend. Juve’s spot in the knock-out rounds of the Champions League is far from guaranteed as things stand, with the team currently sitting in 23rd place with six points after five matches. They must finish in the top 24 for a spot in the play-offs.

Fortunately for Spalletti, he is able to welcome two key first-team defenders back into his squad for the clash against Cypriot outfit Pafos on Wednesday night.

Bremer has been out of action since October 13, having had surgery on a meniscus issue, while Rugani has been on the sidelines since mid-November with a soleus injury. They are both available for selection but are likely to start amongst the substitutes this evening.

Federico Gatti also missed the Napoli match due to a meniscus injury and is expected to be ruled out for another month

Dusan Vlahovic is also unavailable long-term after the adductor surgery he had at the beginning of this month.

Veteran back-up goalkeeper Carlo Pinsoglio is still out, as is the long-term absentee Arkadiusz Milik, otherwise, the Bianconeri have a relatively clean bill of health.

Summer signing Edon Zhegrova is included in the squad, and is in line to earn his first Juventus start on Wednesday night.

It remains to be seen whether Jonathan David or Lois Openda will lead the line for Juventus against Pafos. Kenan Yildiz is expected to play as a starter alongside Zhegrova.

Goalkeepers: Perin, Di Gregorio.

Defenders: Bremer, Kelly, Kalulu, Rugani, J.Mario, Cambiaso, Cabal, Rouhi, Scaglia.

Midfielders: Locatelli, Koopmeiners, Adzic, Kostic, Thuram, Miretti, McKennie.

Forwards: Conceicao, Yildiz, Zhegrova, Openda, David.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. Continental stakes raise the intensity, where away goals no longer apply but margins still feel razor thin. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
