Official: Donnarumma included in FIFPRO World 11 for second time

Italy national team goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has been included in the FIFPRO World 11 for the second time in his career after an impressive year on an individual level, which saw him lift the Champions League trophy before securing a big move from PSG to Manchester City over the summer.

The FIFPRO World 11 is an annual award recognising the top 11 players from across the globe. An initial shortlist of 26 players was revealed last week. That has since been cut down to a final 11.

Each year, the team is made up of one goalkeeper and at least three defenders, three midfielders and three forwards. The final inclusion goes to the outfield player with the most votes who had not already made it into the team.

Donnarumma, who won the Champions League with PSG before moving to Manchester City over the summer, has been selected as the goalkeeper in the 2025 FIFPRO World 11. He was the only Italian on the 26-player shortlist.

Neither of the two Serie A representatives on the list – Luka Modric or Kevin De Bruyne – have made it into the final XI.

Donnarumma now has been included in the FIFPRO World XI on two occasions, following his selection in 2021 after Italy’s triumph at EURO 2020.

Gianluigi Buffon (3) is the only Italian to have been included on more occasions than Donnarumma. Fabio Cannavaro, Alessandro Nesta and Leonardo Bonucci also have two inclusions on their CV.

Donnarumma (PSG/Manchester City);

Achraf Hakimi (PSG), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool), Nuno Mendes (PSG);

Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Cole Palmer (Chelsea), Pedri (Barcelona), Vitinha (PSG);

Ousmane Dembele (PSG), Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid), Lamine Yamal (Barcelona).

This is the 2025 FIFPRO Men’s #World11, voted by players worldwide.
