Nottingham Forest are fighting to climb away from the Premier League relegation zone, currently sitting 17th after a turbulent season.

Last term, the Reds enjoyed a remarkable campaign under Nuno Espirito Santo, earning a European spot, but disagreements with owner Evangelos Marinakis led to Santo’s exit.

Ange Postecoglou briefly replaced him but lasted just eight games, leaving the squad in turmoil.

Under Sean Dyche, Forest have stabilised somewhat, but January reinforcements are crucial to their survival.

Nottingham Forest are reportedly eyeing Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas to bolster their defensive options, according to The Athletic.

The 29-year-old, currently on loan at Roma, has made just four Serie A starts this season and could be available if his Italian loan is cut short.

The Reds are willing to let Brazilian signing Cuiabano, who has yet to feature for the first team, leave on loan to free up space.

Tsimikas, who began his career at Olympiacos, has been linked with Forest before and comes highly rated, described as “absolutely brilliant” by Sky Sports pundit Darren Ambrose.

With Oleksandr Zinchenko’s loan from Arsenal underwhelming — he has started just four Premier League matches — Forest are keen to strengthen at left-back as Dyche looks to improve survival chances this season.

Quick take: Transfer watch: this move could reshape selection options and tactical balance in coming weeks. If incentives and add-ons are confirmed, expect follow-up negotiations or medicals to move quickly. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
