Nottingham Forest confident for Lucca, Lang one step away from Galatasaray

Nottingham Forest confident for Lucca, Lang one step away from Galatasaray

Napoli have plenty of unresolved business in the January transfer window, but Thursday’s reports suggest that they are closing in on the sales of two of their attackers in Lorenzo Lucca and Noa Lang.

Napoli are hoping to provide Antonio Conte with new additions in January, but will likely have to move players on first. Lucca has struggled for opportunities since joining from Udinese over the summer, and has attracted interest from the likes of Nottingham Forest, Pisa and Sevilla, while Galatasaray are keen to snatch summer signing Lang less than a year after he was signed from PSV Eindhoven.

According to updates from Gianluca Di Marzio, Nottingham Forest are ‘confident’ that they will be able to get a deal done for Lucca. Reports earlier this week claimed that Sean Dyche’s side were discussing a loan deal for a fee of around €1m with an option to buy for a further €35m.

Thursday’s update claims that Forest are pushing to get a deal done today, and that they would be prepared to fly Lucca over to England immediately once an agreement is wrapped up.

There have been suggestions that Sevilla are increasingly keen on signing the towering Italy international, and that they could look to include former Napoli target Juanlu Sanchez in negotiations. Serie A strugglers Pisa are also attempting to convince Lucca to sign.

As for Lang, Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Napoli’s final approval is the only thing missing before his transfer to Galatasaray goes through.

Di Marzio claims that Galatasaray have already sent through all the necessary documents to complete the transfer, but that Antonio Conte is keen to keep hold of the Dutchman for Sunday’s Serie A match against Juventus.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
