Napoli’s official statement as Allegri appears to insult Conte’s assistant Oriali

Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri appeared to insult Antonio Conte’s assistant Gabriele Oriali during the final minutes of the Supercoppa semifinal between the Rossoneri and Napoli, prompting the Partenopei to react with an official statement: ‘We hope it won’t go unnoticed.’

Tension erupted in Riyadh last night as Napoli beat Milan 2-0 in a Supercoppa Italiana semifinal.

Players clashed in the final minutes, while the coaches left the field without shaking their hands.

Sportmediaset published a video that appears to show Allegri insulting Conte’s assistant, and Italy legend Lele Oriali, on the touchline at minute 89, with Napoli already leading 2-0.

Allegri seemed to call Oriali ‘coglione’, which translates into ‘as*hole’ and Napoli reacted with an official statement: “Napoli strongly condemn the conduct of Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri who, during the Supercoppa Italiana semifinal, in the presence of dozens of people on the sidelines and live on TV, repeatedly and seriously insulted Gabriele Oriali using offensive language,” the Partenopei said.

“We hope that this completely uncontrolled outburst won’t go unnoticed, especially given that with 33 cameras involved in the production of the event, it is impossible not to acknowledge what happened.”

Napoli will face the winner of Bologna-Inter in the Supercoppa Final on Monday, December 22.

Having already been eliminated from the Coppa Italia and not being involved in any European competition this season, Milan only have Serie A left to play for this season.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
