Milan vs Lazio – Tomori anticipates ‘difficult’ test and reveals how Allegri has improved the Rossoneri

Milan defender Fikayo Tomori has anticipated a ‘difficult’ test as the Rossoneri prepare to host Lazio at San Siro this evening.

The English centre-back once again starts for Milan, having become a mainstay in the defence since the arrival of Massimiliano Allegri in the summer.

“We are approaching this game the same way as throughout the season, aiming to win with the right attitude. It’ll be difficult, but we are ready,” Tomori told Sky Sport Italia.

Milan look to continue their good run of form, fresh off the back of a narrow 1-0 Milan derby victory against Inter last weekend.

The Rossoneri can temporarily move top with a victory, potentially putting ten points between themselves and tonight’s opposition Lazio.

Tomori continued, talking about how Allegri has improved things at Milan: focusing on the mental aspect as much as the physical. The Englishman claims that improved self belief is instrumental to the club’s improved form.

“We know that we need to be on our toes in every match, and anyone can hurt us if we’re not careful. We have done well against the big teams, and this is another opportunity for us. We’ve got to continue along this path.

“Allegri has done psychological work on the team. When he arrived, he said we had everything required for a great season, but that we needed to believe in ourselves and what we are doing.”

Quick take: Match context: momentum and small details could decide this one, especially set-pieces and transitions. Form and fitness will matter; expect managers to rotate carefully around the congested schedule. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
