Milan ultras won’t ‘abandon’ the team but ‘no choreographies’ against Inter

Milan ultras confirm they have not prepared a choreography for tonight’s derby against Inter, but will still ‘rise’ their voices to support the team and the coach.

Milan ultras announce they won’t put up a choreography before a derby against Inter tonight.

It’s technically a home fixture for the Nerazzurri, so the only Milan fans will be in the Curva Sud.

Milan ultras released a statement on Sunday, just hours before the game, to explain how they will support the team tonight.

“You will find the same bleakness as at the start of the year, no choreographies, no large banners, no flags,” they wrote via Gazzetta.

“However, there will be a big difference compared to August, when we remained silent to raise awareness among the public and the club. Today, we don’t need to explain anything to anyone anymore because everyone can see what’s happening.

“Tonight, the powerful voice of that black wall, which someone is trying to break down, but which will stand, will rise loud, because today we don’t feel right abandoning the coach and the team who are completely innocent in this matter.”

The ultras’ strike is due to the latest measures from public authorities, including the withdrawal of approval for the new banners in the second and third tiers of the Stadio Meazza.

Inter and Milan’s ultras have been under scrutiny for several months, particularly after the ‘Doppia Curva’ investigation that led to the first-instance conviction of 16 ultras members of the two Milanese clubs suspected of having ties with Mafia families.

As Gazzetta highlights, the Prosecutors’ Office once again tightened control over ultras in recent weeks, aiming to prevent ‘recurrence of situations already exposed in the investigation.’

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
