Milan offered Tottenham defender but prefer Liverpool option

Reports in Italy claim that Milan have been offered the opportunity to sign former Genoa and Juventus centre-back Radu Dragusin from Tottenham Hotspur, but that Massimiliano Allegri is more keen on Liverpool’s Joe Gomez.

Milan have already brought in Niclas Fullkrug from West Ham during the January transfer window, and could potentially add another defender to their list of mid-season recruits.

As per Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri would ideally like an experienced, preferably Serie A-proven option to support the centre-back department of Matteo Gabbia, Fikayo Tomori, Strahinja Pavlovic and Koni De Winter.

According to Calciomercato’s report, Milan have been offered Tottenham centre-back Dragusin, who is also of interest to Roma in the January transfer window.

The Romania international joined Tottenham from Genoa in a €25m deal two years ago in January of 2024. He has since suffered and recovered from a cruciate ligament injury, but now finds himself short on opportunities under Thomas Frank in North London.

According to Friday’s reports, Milan, at the moment, are not expected to pursue a deal for the Roma-linked Dragusin.

There is every possibility that Milan leave things as they are in defence this window, as the club are said to be keen on the progress of summer signing De Winter, who has often been the fourth-choice centre-back this term.

There are still some other options on the January market that are of interest to Milan, though. That includes Liverpool’s Gomez, who is liked by Allegri. Friday’s report claims that Federico Gatti from Juventus is also an enticing option for the Rossoneri.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
