Nottingham Forest are reportedly ready to pay €1m for Lorenzo Lucca’s loan and cover his wages until the end of the season, but the Italian striker is unsure about leaving Serie A.
Premier League side Nottingham Forest have made a formal offer to sign Napoli striker Lucca on loan until the end of the season.
The news was reported by several sources on Sunday, and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provided updates regarding the deal’s figures.
Romano said that Napoli have agreed to send Lucca to Nottingham on a €1m loan deal with an option to buy for €35m.
Nottingham Forest have also agreed to pay the striker’s full salary until the end of the season, meaning that their January spending for Lucca would exceed €2m.
Lucca has held talks with other teams as well, including Benfica, Al-Hilal and one of his former clubs, Pisa.
The struggling Tuscans can only offer a loan deal until the end of the season, and the ball is now in the player’s court.
It’s not a race between Pisa and Forest only, but according to Romano, Lucca will now have to decide whether to accept the proposal from England or wait for a different solution, given that his priority would be Serie A stay.
