Liverpool’s title defence has gone from concern to crisis.

A 2–1 defeat to Manchester United at the weekend marked a fourth consecutive loss in all competitions — something the club hasn’t endured since the Roy Hodgson era.

After last season’s triumph, Arne Slot’s reign is beginning to creak under pressure.

Alexander Isak can’t find the net, Florian Wirtz looks a shadow of his former self, and at right-back, Jeremie Frimpong has endured a difficult start to life at Anfield — even forcing Slot to deploy Dominik Szoboszlai as a makeshift defender in recent weeks.

Now, it seems Liverpool are already planning for the future, with a new name emerging on their radar.

According to a report from Rousing The Kop, Liverpool have begun monitoring Argentine starlet Dylan Gorosito, a 19-year-old right-back who has impressed scouts with his performances at the U20 World Cup.

The Boca Juniors defender registered one goal and three assists in six games for Argentina, showcasing his attacking flair, speed, and confidence on the ball — attributes that have caught Liverpool’s eye as they assess long-term solutions on the right side of defence.

Transfer journalist Graeme Bailey confirmed the Reds’ interest, telling Rousing The Kop: “Liverpool are one of the teams who quite like what they’ve seen, but we’re talking more of a future project. Teams watching and being impressed by someone doesn’t mean they’re going to sign him. It’s one to put on the system and keep tracking.”

Bailey also described the teenager as “brilliant,” suggesting that while a deal isn’t imminent, Gorosito’s rise could soon put him firmly in the frame for a European move.

For now, Frimpong’s place isn’t under immediate threat — but with Gorosito’s reputation growing rapidly in South America, Liverpool’s scouting team may already be looking at what comes next.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
