Juventus keen on Hojbjerg but Marseille & De Zerbi stand firm

Juventus are looking for a midfielder who can genuinely raise the technical level in the middle of the pitch. But before even thinking about a potential target, we have to understand whether the club in question is willing to let him go, otherwise we’re just wasting time.

In recent days Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, the Danish midfielder born in 1995, has been mentioned in a Juventus context.

His quality is not up for debate and his profile would certainly help raise Juventus’ level.

However, Olympique Marseille will use the January window to strengthen, not to deprive themselves of the best pieces in the squad.

As Roberto De Zerbi explained yesterday during his lengthy appearance on Sportitalia, Højbjerg is one of his loyalists, OM’s vice-captain and an absolute point of reference in a season full of ambition.

The moral of the story: he’s not leaving Marseille. The Bianconeri will have to look elsewhere for any midfield reinforcement.
