Juventus and Chiesa have to wait for Salah after learning Liverpool demands

Juventus and Chiesa have to wait for Salah after learning Liverpool demands

Juventus are exploring a potential return for Federico Chiesa, but much depends on the choices of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah according to the latest reports in Italy.

Reports at the beginning of the week confirmed that Juventus are pursuing a potential deal for Liverpool’s Chiesa, just 18 months after he was pushed out in Turin.

The former Fiorentina winger had entered the final year of his contract at the time, had a troubling injury record and a hefty wage packet, which eventually led to his joining Liverpool in a cut-price deal believed to be worth somewhere in the region of €15m.

Chiesa has struggled to nail down a spot as a starter under Arne Slot during his 18 months on Merseyside, and with a potential spot at the World Cup at stake, the 28-year-old is said to be considering his options in January.

Reports from various outlets on Monday claimed that Juventus were considering a potential loan deal for Chiesa, but updates have since made it clear that Liverpool are only interested in a permanent sale in January.

Furthermore, Liverpool are still waiting for a final decision on Salah’s immediate future. The Egyptian King had come to blows with head coach Arne Slot prior to Christmas, and there have been suggestions that he could potentially look to leave the club as early as January.

Salah is currently away on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations, and it remains unlikely that he makes any major decisions on his Liverpool future before he returns to the UK.

As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, if Salah were to leave Liverpool this month, then an exit for Chiesa becomes even more unlikely.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
