Wednesday’s reports claim that Inter have made an enquiry for former Aston Villa and Eintracht Frankfurt winger Moussa Diaby, who is said to be keen on a return to Europe after 18 months in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ittihad.
According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio and Sky Sport Italia, Inter have made an initial enquiry regarding the availability of the 11-time France international.
Gianluca Di Marzio writes that this is not set to be a particularly straightforward process, given that Al-Ittihad are unwilling to let go of the 26-year-old, for whom they spent €60m in the summer of 2024.
Diaby, however, is said to be keen on a return to Europe. The winger had a short spell in Serie A at the beginning of his career, on loan with Crotone from Paris Saint-Germain, where he made two appearances at the end of the 2017-18 season.
Inter are reportedly interested in a loan with an option to buy.
Wednesday’s reports claim that the Nerazzurri would be inclined to play Diaby in a slightly different role to the one that he is used to: At right wing-back in Cristian Chivu’s 3-5-2. This is largely due to the injury to Denzel Dumfries and following reports of approaches from several clubs for summer signing Luis Henrique.
Inter are also still said to be pursuing a potential deal with PSV Eindhoven for the return of Ivan Perisic.
