Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak are facing another financial complaint with FIFA, this time regarding former defender Michael Awuah Mensah.According to a report by Kumasi-based Akoma FM, Mensahâs agency, Royolbridge Industries, has formally petitioned the world football governing body over an outstanding debt of GH¢58,000.The claim covers compensation, unpaid salaries, and the remaining balance of the playerâs signing-on fee. Mensah and Hearts of Oak mutually terminated his contract in August 2025 after he was declared surplus to requirements. The defender joined Berekum Chelsea shortly after. This petition adds to a history of recent financial disputes for the Phobians. The club was previously hit with a $150,000 fine for the wrongful termination of former technical director Rene Hiddink, which resulted in a transfer ban. They also settled a GH¢106,000 debt to former player Francis Adjetey to lift a separate ban and were ordered to pay Gladson Awako GH¢120,000 for unpaid entitlements.
