Galatasaray deny Frattesi report: ‘Not a priority for us’

While multiple sources claim there are advanced negotiations with Inter, Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk insists David Frattesi ‘is not a priority target.’

Everyone from Sky Sport Italia to Fabrizio Romano, Alfredo Pedullà and La Gazzetta dello Sport are confident that talks are progressing rapidly.

It would be a loan move with option to buy for a total €35m, with the details depending on what would activate the mandatory purchase at the end of the season.

However, when speaking to the media ahead of this evening’s match, Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk poured cold water over the whole affair.

“We have not had any meetings with Frattesi and nor did we attempt to speak with him,” said the coach.

“This profile of player is not a priority target for us in the transfer window. He is a player we like, but we haven’t made any moves.

“I think we will acquire players who will suit us and contribute to the team. It is important to sign the right players.”

It remains to be seen how this will affect the situation going forward, as Frattesi has struggled for playing time with Inter under both Simone Inzaghi and now Cristian Chivu.

There were multiple reports that Galatasaray were ready to secure him on loan with an obligation to buy if they at least qualified for the Champions League preliminary round.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
