Fiorentina have confirmed that Robin Gosens has sustained a muscle injury and will be out of action for the coming weeks.
The German wing-back picked up the issue during last week’s Serie A clash against Inter, which forced him to come off early.
The club announced the results of his medical tests in an official statement on Friday afternoon.
“Fiorentina announce that Robin Gosens underwent medical examinations following the injury suffered during the match against Inter,” the statement read, via AlfredoPedulla.com.
“The tests revealed a first-degree lesion to the rectus femoris muscle of the left thigh. The player has already begun his recovery process and will be reassessed during the international break.”
It is another setback for Fiorentina, who have been dealing with several injury concerns in recent weeks as they look to regain consistency in Serie A.
