Exclusive: Napoli defender Marianucci is Torino’s top target for January

Napoli centre-back Luca Marianucci is Torino’s top defensive target for the January transfer window.

Torino have targeted Napoli defender Marianucci for January. Sources with direct knowledge of the matter exclusively tell me that the ex-Empoli defender is the Granata’s primary option for the winter transfer window.

Marianucci feels ready for a new experience to get more playing time, but Napoli would need to complete some incoming deals, and a final decision on the promising defender has yet to be taken.

Marianucci, 21, was already a Torino target last summer and the relationship between the Granata and Napoli is excellent, as demonstrated by previous deals involving Vanja Milinkovic-Savic and Giovanni Simeone. This is a factor that could work in Torino’s favour.

Cremonese and Cagliari are interested in Marianucci as well, while Genoa are more on the sidelines, so Torino are determined to move quickly to beat the competition.

Marianucci made 18 Serie A appearances with Empoli in 2024-25 and joined Napoli last summer.
