Confirmed: Allegri, Ianni and three players suspended after Serie A Week 13

The Lega Serie A has confirmed that Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri will be suspended for next Monday’s league clash away against Torino, and that three other players have also picked up bans after the 13th round of fixtures over the weekend.

Allegri was sent off right at the end of Milan’s 1-0 win over Lazio on Saturday evening amidst a penalty debacle that continues to cause debate among supporters and pundits. He has been given a one-match ban and has been handed a fine of €10,000 for his actions towards the officials.

Maurizio Sarri’s deputy Marco Ianni was also sent off in the touchline row in San Siro. He has been given a one-match ban and a five of €5,000 for squaring up face-to-face with Allegri during the squabble.

Kosta Runjaic will also be suspended next Monday when Udinese host Genoa in Serie A, following his dismissal during second-half stoppage time at the end of his side’s 2-0 win away against Parma on Saturday.

Three players have been suspended after the 13th round of Serie A fixtures: Parma’s Mariano Troilo was shown a straight red card against Udinese, while Fiorentina’s Marin Pongracic and Hellas Verona’s Roberto Gagliardini have accumulated five yellow cards for the season and will have to sit out of their side’s upcoming league games against Sassuolo and Atalanta respectively.

Roma have been handed a fine of €10,000, Lecce €7,000, Inter and Milan €5,000, Genoa €3,000 and €2,000 for Bologna and Torino as a result of various incidents involving supporters in and around the grounds over the weekend.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
