Chelsea Transfer News: Blues eye £70m teen, secret weapon could clinch deal

Chelsea appear to be once again eyeing a Real Madrid raid, as another of Los Blancos’ star products has caught the attention of the Blues.

We are yet to see how Chelsea’s transfer policy will evolve, if at all, under new boss Liam Rosenior.

The west Londoners have typically opted for young and exciting prospects on long contracts as BlueCo aims to safeguard the long-term future of the club.

But so far, Rosenior has yet to show his hand, with Chelsea reportedly set to lose out to Aston Villa after being strongly linked with midfielder Douglas Luiz – whose arrival would somewhat diverge from their usual transfer methods.

However, recent reports have emerged that meet the Blues’ more common window traits, with a huge talent – and a transfer fee to match – being paired with their name.

According to Spanish football news outlet Fichajes, Chelsea are hoping to lure Real Madrid into an €80m (£70m) deal for young forward Endrick.

The Brazilian attacker is currently on loan at Lyon after finding first-team opportunities hard to come by in Madrid, and showcased his talent with a hat-trick last weekend against Metz in Ligue 1.

The report points to an internal confidence at Chelsea that the fee being put on the table should be too good to refuse for Real Madrid, considering that the 19-year-old is not in their immediate plans.

Chelsea’s interest in Endrick follows previous reports that the Blues were hoping to bring in fellow South American Franco Mastantuono on a loan deal, clearly aligning with Madrid in the admiration of their young talents.

Fichajes states that Chelsea will be looking to offer Endrick a more central role and capitalise on the lack of stability behind the scenes at Real Madrid, who are still searching for Xabi Alonso’s successor.

Rather interestingly, it is suggested that the ‘deciding factor’ in talks could be the teenager’s existing relationship with Estevao, whose review of life at Stamford Bridge will surely only be filled with positives, having earned plenty of game time on the Blues’ right-hand side and scored crucial goals against the likes of Liverpool and Barcelona.

Briefly teammates at Palmeiras, the Chelsea youngster could end up being the perfect sweetener for Endrick to swap the Bernabeu for the Premier League in the near future.

Quick take: Transfer watch: this move could reshape selection options and tactical balance in coming weeks. If incentives and add-ons are confirmed, expect follow-up negotiations or medicals to move quickly. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
