CAF concludes onboarding programme for new and re-elected Member Association Presidents in Cairo

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has concluded a three-day onboarding programme for newly elected and recently re-elected Member Associations (MAs) Presidents at its headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

The meetings, held from October 20 to 22, 2025, served as an important platform to strengthen collaboration and strategic alignment between CAF and its 54 Member Associations across the continent.

CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe reaffirmed his administrations commitment to supporting national associations with more resources and technical assistance, stressing the need for unity and cooperation between CAF, the Member Associations, and the Zonal Unions.

CAF General Secretary Vron Mosengo-Omba, speaking on behalf of Dr Motsepe, said: This initiative was designed to ensure that the CAF administration and the Member Associations work together to achieve shared objectives. The Presidents have given us valuable insight into their needs and how CAF can assist them in developing football.

During the three-day engagement, participants interacted with various CAF departments to discuss competitions, finance, governance, womens football, development, and communications.

The programme also offered an open platform for dialogue, allowing MA Presidents to share perspectives, challenges, and strategic priorities for football growth within their respective countries.

Among the attendees were Presidents and representatives from Chad, DR Congo, Guinea, Libya, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Tunisia, and Zambia.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
