Atletico Madrid join race for Premier League star wanted by Liverpool

The race to sign Marc Guéhi is heating up, with Atletico Madrid emerging as one of several top European clubs vying for the Crystal Palace defender’s signature ahead of his expected free-agent status this summer.

According to journalist Matteo Moretto, speaking on Radio Marca, the La Liga giants have joined an elite list of suitors that includes Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Liverpool, and several other Premier League clubs.

Guéhi, 25, has developed into one of the Premier League’s most consistent and composed centre-backs.

His performances have not only earned him a regular place in the England national team but also made him one of the most sought-after defenders in Europe.

With his contract nearing its expiration, his availability as a free agent has turned him into one of the most attractive defensive prospects for next summer’s market.

Atletico Madrid view Guéhi as an ideal candidate to strengthen their backline, which has been in transition under Diego Simeone.

Simeone, who values defenders with leadership, composure, and tactical awareness, reportedly views Guéhi as a perfect fit for Atletico’s disciplined and compact system.

Meanwhile, Calciomercato reports that Inter Milan are also monitoring Guéhi, though their shortlist includes other names such as Tarik Muharemovic (Sassuolo), Oumar Solet (Udinese), and Mario Gila (Lazio).

Inter’s pursuit may depend on potential summer departures, particularly if they sell one of their current defensive stalwarts to balance finances.

In Germany, Bayern Munich have long been admirers of Guéhi’s skill set, viewing him as a modern, ball-playing centre-back who could seamlessly fit into their evolving defensive structure.

Likewise, Barcelona are keeping tabs as they look to build a younger, more sustainable squad amid financial constraints, though a free transfer could make a deal viable.
