Atalanta vs Lazio – Ivan Juric speaks before key game against Biancocelesti

Atalanta head coach Ivan Juric has said “every game is important” ahead of Atalanta’s crunch tie with Lazio this evening.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia prior to the game, Juric stressed that “we wanted to build some momentum and consistency from previous games.”

Atalanta come into the game four matches unbeaten in all competitions and are the only remaining team unbeaten in Serie A this season.

The highlight of Juric’s pre-match selection was the inclusion of Ademola Lookman in the starting lineup for the first time since his summer transfer drama.

Juric also discussed the pressure of being a coach and the difficulties caused by injuries and unavailability throughout the season.

“All of us coaches live these build-ups intensely and get upset when there are injuries,” he said, “but once the match comes around, we focus on getting things done.”

He then went on to discuss the intensity of the fixture schedule, with games coming thick and fast in Italy and in the Champions League.

“We are slowly recovering players, but when we play Wednesday and Saturday,” he said, “we need many options available and it’s good to have more of them ready right now.”

Finally, he concluded by keeping his cards close to his chest about the club’s objectives for the season, stressing the importance of the next few games on their ambitions.

“We’ve dropped a few points, but over the next few matches, I think the results may well dictate what our objectives are for this season.”
