Anguissa test on injury is a relief for Napoli

According to reports, Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa responded well to tests after an injury with Cameroon, allowing Napoli to breathe a sigh of relief.

The midfielder had sustained the muscular problem while on international duty and there were fears of a lesion, which would’ve meant around four to six weeks on the treatment table.

However, La Repubblica suggest this afternoon that initial tests showed only a small strain and no real damage.

This means Anguissa will simply be rested and given conservative treatment, so at most he will be out for around 10 days.

That will be during the break for international duty, so Napoli hope to have the player ready to face Roma on November 30, but probably missing the meeting with Atalanta on November 22.

The former Fulham midfielder has been very impressive so far this season with four goals and two assists in 11 Serie A appearances.

He will celebrate his 30th birthday this coming weekend.

Quick take: Injury outlook: depth players may get minutes, but the knock could strain the side’s rhythm. Recovery timelines will guide expectations; international duty could also be impacted. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
