Official: McKennie wins Player of the Month for January at Juventus

USMNT international Weston McKennie has been voted as the Juventus player of the month for January by Bianconeri supporters.

American midfielder McKennie has become a key player under Luciano Spalletti, and his contribution has been acknowledged by Juventus supporters who voted him as the player of the month for January.

The 27-year-old has scored six goals and provided four assists in 20 appearances under Spalletti since the Italian tactician was appointed to replace Igor Tudor at the end of October.

“January was a good month for Weston McKennie, and the Juventus Men’s First Team midfielder’s efforts have been recognised with his winning of the January MVP prize, as voted for right here on Juventus.com,” the Serie A giants said in a statement.

“McKennie has been ever-present on the pitch for the Bianconeri in recent weeks, and has been a constant goal threat as well. He opened the month with a strike against Lecce on 3 January, he scored and assisted in the home win against Cremonese, and was on target in the Champions League win over Benfica as well.

“Beyond his readiness to play wherever coach Luciano Spalletti needs him to, Wes has proven himself to be a real weapon in attack.

“And so McKennie has been named the EA Sports MVP of the Month for January 2026. He will receive his award ahead of the home match against Lazio on 8 February, with kick-off then set for 20:45 CET.

“Congratulations, Weston!

McKennie’s Juventus contract expires at the end of the season, but multiple Italian sources, including Tuttosport, claim that his steady development under Spalletti will lead to a new deal for the ex-Schalke 04 and Leeds United midfielder.

McKennie joined Juventus in the summer of 2020 and has scored 24 goals and provided 23 assists in 213 appearances across all competitions with the Serie A giants.

McKennie has grabbed four goals and one assist in eight appearances in January.

Quick take: Match context: momentum and small details could decide this one, especially set-pieces and transitions. Form and fitness will matter; expect managers to rotate carefully around the congested schedule. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
