Allegri’s reaction to derby win highlights attitude he wants from Milan

Massimiliano Allegri’s reaction to Milan’s victory in the derby highlights the spirit the Italian coach wants to see in the team after beating Inter.

Milan are unbeaten in 11 Serie A matches, having only lost the opening league game of the season against Cremonese in August.

The Rossoneri also beat direct rivals Roma, Napoli and Inter and are just two points below the top spot.

Allegri was surely satisfied with the win, but, as he always does, he didn’t wave at the fans after the final whistle, but ran straight inside the Stadio Meazza tunnel, with a big smile on his face.

During his post-match press conference, he urged the team to keep attention levels high in all games, especially those against teams in the bottom half of the table. “It’s no coincidence,” said Allegri, that the Diavoli have already dropped points against Cremonese, Parma and Pisa.

As reported by Gazzetta on Tuesday, Allegri’s reaction, on and off the pitch, somehow embodied the attitude the coach wants to see in his players going forward: enjoy the win, but then reset and prepare for what’s coming.

Allegri has given time to the team to celebrate; some of them enjoyed a pizza and went out to a club after winning the derby on Sunday, reports Gazzetta. Monday was a day off, but today training sessions will resume, and Allegri expects the utmost concentration as the Rossoneri will start preparing for Saturday’s home game against Lazio.
