Milan striker Santiago Gimenez continues to train separately, even if, according to Gazzetta, the Rossoneri doctors believe the Mexico international has fully recovered from an ankle injury.
Milan striker Gimenez has missed one and a half months of action due to an ankle injury that even prevented him from playing with the Mexico national team in November.
The former Feyenoord star continues training separately at Milanello even if, according to Gazzetta, the club’s medical staff believe the striker has clinically recovered from his ankle issue.
The pink paper explains that, technically, there isn’t a diagnosis for the Mexican striker and that Milan have never released an official statement regarding his injury.
Even Massimiliano Allegri hasn’t entirely clarified Gimenez’s issue as the Italian tactician keeps telling the media that he hopes the 24-year-old will return to action “soon.” Today’s press conference made no exception.
According to the report, the striker’s perception of pain and mental discomfort also play a role in his slow return to action.
As of today, his return date remains unclear as the striker could even miss next week’s Supercoppa Italiana Final Four in Saudi Arabia.
Milan are looking for a new striker in the January window, but Gimenez is not considering leaving the club as his agent recently confirmed.
