Sky Sport Italia reports that Napoli will be forced to cope without their top goal scorer, Rasmus Hojlund, in a Serie A game against Inter tomorrow.
Denmark international Hojlund hasn’t yet recovered from a muscle injury, so he won’t be available when Napoli host Inter at the Stadio Maradona on Sunday.
Previous reports claimed that Napoli were confident Hojlund would be available for the big match against the Nerazzurri, but according to the latest update from Sky Sport, the ex-Manchester United player proved not to be fit enough in the latest training session.
Hojlund is Napoli’s best scorer this season with four goals in six appearances across all competitions, followed by Scott McTominay and Kevin De Bruyne with three each.
According to Sky Sport, Conte has three options to replace Hojlund tomorrow.
The most obvious one is starting Lorenzo Lucca, but the Italian centre-forward has failed to match expectations this season and has only scored once in nine appearances.
Lucca was also sent off in a 6-2 loss against PSV on Tuesday.
Amid Lucca’s struggles, Conte has reportedly tested David Neres as a false nine, but Noa Lang is also an option if Conte opts to leave Lucca on the bench.
Napoli have lost two consecutive matches across all competitions and sit second in the Serie A table, level on points with Inter and Roma, and one below leaders Milan.
