The January transfer window is in full-swing, and reports in Italy claim that Juventus are hoping to raise around €20m through the sales of two forgotten Brazilian stars.
Still under contract at Juventus is Arthur Melo, who has spent most of the last three-and-a-half years away from Turin on loan deals with Liverpool, Fiorentina, Girona and most recently with Gremio back in his native Brazil.
The 29-year-old had joined Juventus in an exchange deal involving Miralem Pjanic, which was reported to be worth €72m plus up to €10m in bonuses and add-ons. With a contract that expires in 2027, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Arthur is still worth around €10m on the Juventus balance sheet. This figure will drop to around €6.5m by the summer.
As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, Arthur has already held talks with the Gremio management over a potential permanent transfer after a positive spell in 2025, during which he has averaged a 94% pass success rate, 7.4 ball recoveries per game, 2.2 tackles and 6.2 duels per 90 minutes.
Aside from Arthur, Juventus could also soon benefit from the activation of a sell-on clause in Kaio Jorge’s contract.
The 23-year-old was brought over to Italy from Santos by Juve in 2021. His time in Serie A was split between the Juventus first-team, the U23 squad and a loan deal with Frosinone in 2023-24. He was then allowed to leave Juventus in the summer of 2024, joining Cruzeiro for a fee reported to be worth €7.2m.
Kaio Jorge finished the 2025 Brazilian Serie A season (which runs from March until December) as the division’s leading goalscorer with a tally of 21 from 33 outings. He also finished the season with eight assists to his name in the league, plus five goals and an assist from eight appearances in the Copa do Brasil.
His performances have caught the eye of some of Brazil’s biggest clubs, including Flamengo, who have reportedly tabled an offer of €32m to sign the 23-year-old from Cruzeiro.
In turn, Cruzeiro have extended the player’s contract until 2030, which means that if he is to depart in the near future, it will likely be for a fee even higher than the €32m that Flamengo have offered.
This benefits Juventus, who are reportedly entitled to 30% of the money raised from Kaio Jorge’s next move.
