Christian Eriksen made his debut for VfL Wolfsburg last week, coming on for the final 30 minutes of their 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund.
Whether the former Manchester United player will start against RB Leipzig this weekend remains uncertain, but he will certainly not play the full match, Wolfsburg coach Paul Simonis revealed at his pre-match press conference.
“We’ll see on Saturday, but he’s not ready for 90 minutes yet,” Simonis said.
“Every week of training is good for him. He trains very well. He played a solid 30 minutes against Dortmund. We are very satisfied with his physical development, but we are also cautious because we know he didn’t have a proper summer preparation.
“We have to discuss across the entire staff what’s best for the player, how many minutes,” he added.
Eriksen is capable of playing either as a central midfielder or in a more advanced central role.
