Having played just 18 minutes of football this season, Jonas Wind has made it clear he is not satisfied with his current role at VfL Wolfsburg.
The Danish international, who was brought on for the final 17 minutes of Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund, told WAZ after the game:
“Of course I’m not satisfied when I’m sitting on the bench – especially when I didn’t play at all in the last game. Today was better, I got (nearly) 20 minutes. But I’m still not satisfied. I train as well as I can, but in the end it’s always the coach’s decision. I try to show myself in training,” said Wind, who missed much of Wolfsburg’s pre-season with a hip injury.
“That was obviously not ideal. But now I’m ready for the coming weeks. I’m waiting for my chance.”
Wind was strongly linked with a move away from Wolfsburg in the summer, but ultimately stayed with just one year left on his contract.
“I don’t know exactly why it didn’t work out. I was generally open to a new challenge. But now I’m here in Wolfsburg – and of course I’m also happy to be at VfL,” he said.
