What En-Nesyri signing means for Vlahovic, David and Openda futures at Juventus

Juventus have an agreement in place with Fenerbahce and centre-forward Youssef En-Nesyri according to various outlets in Italy, but what does the arrival of the Moroccan mean for the likes of Dusan Vlahovic, Jonathan David and Lois Openda?

According to various outlets in Italy, Juventus are set to sign En-Nesyri on an initial loan deal with a future option to buy. The Bianconeri will pay around €3m to sign the 28-year-old on loan with the option to buy clause set at €17. Juve will also cover the player’s salary in full for the remainder of the season. 

The signing of En-Nesyri means that Spalletti now has a full complement of strikers at his disposal. 

En-Nesyri, at the moment, is considered the direct replacement for Vlahovic, who is currently out nursing a long-term injury. The Serbian will also be out of contract in June and will leave the club on a free transfer unless he renews before the end of the campaign. 

As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, it remains to be seen whether En-Nesyri will be signed on a permanent deal, but there is hope that he will be able to soften the blow should Vlahovic depart in the summer. 

The Pink Paper suggests that David is the only current Juventus striker who seems nailed on to stay beyond the summer transfer window as things stand. He is considered to be a different profile of attacker to En-Nesyri, and it is not ruled out that the two could play together in the same line-up. 

Openda, meanwhile, will be allowed to leave should an appropriate offer come in, Saturday’s report suggests. The Belgian has already played for two clubs this season – Juve and RB Leipzig – and so would be ineligible to play for a different team if he were to leave in January, but a move away in the summer is an increasingly likely possibility. 

Juventus are also expected to seek an exit for Arkadiusz Milik, who has not played competitively in two years, but remains under contract until 2027.
