Rafael Leao was about to take off his shirt to celebrate his second goal for Milan on Sunday, but Matteo Gabbia saved him from a yellow card.
Milan’s vice-captain Gabbia prevented his teammate Leao from getting a yellow card on Sunday, after the Portuguese had scored his second goal against Fiorentina, giving the Rossoneri the lead and, eventually, all three points thanks to a 2-1 win.
Leao was about to take off his shirt after converting a penalty kick in the dying minutes, but Gabbia quickly stopped him, pulling it back over his neck just in time to prevent a yellow card.
Leao had not scored at San Siro for 17 months. Thanks to his brace, the Rossoneri have returned to the top of the table, with a one-point lead over Inter, Roma and Napoli.
