Tommaso Baldanzi has been omitted from the Roma squad to face Genoa tonight, so either Evan Ferguson or Stephan El Shaarawy are expected to start up front.
Roma’s attacking midfielder Baldanzi won’t be available for tonight’s home game against Genoa.
Gian Piero Gasperini released his squad list on Monday morning but the Italian is not part of it.
According to multiple sources, including Fantacalcio.it, Baldanzi has had a fever, making him unavailable for tonight’s fixture, the last of the year in Serie A.
Baldanzi was in contention to start up front, but his absence means either El Shaarawy or Ferguson will complete the Giallorossi’s attacking trident, joining Paulo Dybala and Matias Soulé.
Equally surprising, Artem Dovbyk has been called up for tonight’s match against Genoa, but the Ukraine international is unlikely to be fit to start.
Mario Hermoso is also not in his best shape so, even if the Spaniard is part of the Roma squad, Jan Ziółkowski is still expected to start at the back.
Goalkeepers: Vasquez, Gollini, Svilar.
Defenders: Rensch, Angelino, Tsimikas, Celik, Hermoso, Mancini, Ziolkowski, Wesley, Mirra, Ghilardi.
Midfielders: Cristante, Kone, Romano, Pisilli.
Attackers: Dovbyk, Ferguson, Soulé, Dybala, El Shaarawy.
