Como produced a ruthless away performance to dismantle Lazio 3-0, scoring early and never relinquishing control in a statement win at the Olimpico.
The visitors struck almost immediately.
After just two minutes, Martin Baturina found space on the edge of the area and curled a precise finish inside the right post to put Como ahead and silence the home crowd.
Lazio tried to respond through Mattia Zaccagni and Danilo Cataldi, but Jean Butez was equal to everything, denying the hosts a route back into the game.
The match swung decisively in Como’s favour midway through the first half. Nico Paz first doubled the lead in the 24th minute, reacting quickest to a rebound in the box and firing low past Ivan Provedel.
Moments later, Paz had the chance to add a third from the penalty spot, but Provedel guessed correctly and made an excellent save to keep Lazio alive.
Any hope of a comeback evaporated early in the second half. Four minutes after the restart, Paz completed his brace in spectacular fashion, drilling a powerful strike from outside the box into the left corner to make it 3-0.
Lazio huffed and puffed late on, with Gustav Isaksen forcing a fine save from Butez, but Maurizio Sarri’s changes failed to shift the momentum. Como, expertly organised and clinical on the break, saw the game out comfortably.
It was a sobering night for Lazio, while Como left Rome with a memorable and fully deserved victory.
