Mario Hermoso is increasingly in doubt for tonight’s Serie A showdown with Juventus, so Roma could be forced to transform their defence, but Paulo Dybala may well start.
It kicks off at the Allianz Juventus Stadium at 19.45 GMT.
The Giallorossi made the trip to Turin without injured Artem Dovbyk, while Neil El Aynaoui and Evan Ndicka are on Africa Cup of Nations duty.
Coach Gian Piero Gasperini had warned in yesterday’s press conference that Hermoso was also suffering from muscle fatigue and remained in doubt.
The latest reports from Sky Sport Italia, Il Tempo and others suggest Hermoso’s recovery is not going well, so he too is unlikely to start.
It is possible Jan Ziolkowski will be given the nod, although the summer signing has been given very limited playing time so far this season.
The 20-year-old Polish talent started just two games, one where he was hauled off after 30 minutes for a tactical decision, the other he was substituted at half-time.
We could also see Devyne Rensch dragged back into the defensive three from his usual full-back role to plug the gaps, alternatively Zeki Celik will play there on his return from suspension.
Dybala is tipped to be part of the trident attack with Matias Soulé and Evan Ferguson.
Roma probable (3-4-2-1): Svilar; Rensch, Mancini, Ziolkowski; Celik, Cristante, Koné, Wesley; Soulé, Dybala; Ferguson
